Business Development Managers – Hampshire and Dorset

Are you a talented Food service Business Development Manager? OR maybe a chef who is looking to utilize your knowledge and acquire new skills by side stepping within the Food service industry? If yes then Harvest has a great opportunity for you to join our growing team.

Due to superb business results we are looking to grow our business development team further and expand deeper into the county of Dorset. We are looking for fresh talent to join our team to help us successfully win, service and support our customers whilst growing our business portfolio in this beautiful area in the South Coast.

Our Role

As a Harvest Business Development Manager (BDM) you are responsible for the retention, category growth and overall area sales turnover & profitability for approximately 100 accounts within a designated territory area. You will be involved in selling to close category gaps, consolidation of suppliers and adding value by providing quality business solutions into established food service accounts such as restaurants, hotels, pubs, education, and healthcare. Alongside managing this designated territory, you will be building and delivering a new business pipeline for future growth.

Our Business Development Managers have great relationships with many buyers including chefs, managers and buying teams. This role enables creative working with a variety of suppliers whilst being consultative in solution selling to customers across food service within this local area.

The Person

You will be a people focused person and great at building strong customer relationships, your interpersonal skills will be second to none. You may be from a wholesale background ideally operating in the Food service Industry around Dorset and have a strong affinity to Food as a chef. You will understand the difference between a Bearnaise and a Hollandaise and know your Cep’s from your Oysters! You will love a challenge and someone who always overachieves your target.

Category Development Manager

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Purchasing, your role will be to ensure the Harvest product range is current, fit for purpose and in line with existing and future market trends. You will be responsible for all promotional activity for your given categories as well as generating commercial income. This role will also be responsible for ensuring stock is managed and cleared when necessary.

This is an office-based role.

The Candidate

You will be a commercially minded individual, with a high level of attention to detail, strong negotiation skills and a passion for product.

Working in a proactive manner, you will have a firm grasp of all processes involved with management of your category and will actively seek to introduce newness and drive the success of your range.

You will be a great team player, who can confidently communicate across all levels of the business and effectively manage supplier relationships.

A background in food is desirable.

Strong IT skills are essential.
