Our ethos

We believe in an ethical and sustainable approach to our business and we source everything with this ethos in mind. We're proud of our brand and our reputation for good quality service and products.

At Harvest we have our own QHSE department that carefully check and monitor all our local suppliers to ensure they meet rigid animal welfare and growing standards as well as hold and comply with the relevant Food Safety Criteria. We will always look to source quality products with accreditations such as Red Tractor and Marine Stewardship Council MSC where possible.

Our range does not contain any GM products. As part of our drive towards a more sustainable model of business, we have launched a range of biodegradable and compostable products that reduce carbon footprint. We are also actively looking to reduce plastic packaging and our impact on the environment.

Harvest is also committed to supporting our community. We love sourcing the best in local produce and have developed really productive relationships with producers throughout Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight. We believe in looking after our employees and value the incredible work done by our team. Our ethos is one of inclusion, ethics, support and integrity.

Harvest are proud to hold the RED TRACTOR accreditation covering a range of butchery products.

The Red Tractor logo is only found on British food and drink products that have been certified to rigorous standards from farms to pack.  Their logo means that the food you buy has been responsibly sourced, safely produced and comes from crops and animals that have been well cared for – so it’s good for you and good for British farmers.

To be Red Tractor assured, their farmers must work tirelessly to maintain a strict set of standards that keep animal welfare at their core and ensure they can deliver full supply chain traceability and safety.

Are you aware, unlike some other countries around the world, Red Tractor does not permit the use of hormones or antibiotics to promote growth. British farmers in general now have some of the lowest usage rates in the world.

Did you know all Red Tractor Certified Standards chickens can be traced back to the hatchery and parent stock they came from and have 10% more space than is required by European legislation. They also experience more enrichment as well as world leading welfare, hygiene and safety standards.
